Pandering

I.
Beneath miles of mortar and stone
Pristine ivory walls gloomily shine
Life seems to be the one to postpone
To fight off God’s design
People in lab coats just meander
For it is you they like to gander
Seeing how to fix what they can
Even when it is not in His plan.

II.
Begging for one more day
Promises you plan to never break
If He’ll let you just stay
The decision not yours to make
Enduring the agony and shame
You wonder who to blame
God gives you no answer
As to why he gave you endometrial cancer.

III.
This is the place one goes
To find answers and cures
For when no one else knows
When you take life’s detours
Within others you have to trust
A new life to which to adjust
The hospital always plays for keeps
For it is here that one sows what one reaps.
